Despite having not yet made its official appearance at our Anchorage showroom, the Hyundai Ioniq has been winning over eco-focused drivers and experts alike with its unique platform for alternative fuel. With a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric offering on the way, the Ioniq is the first in its class to host three different powertrains on the same base design. Now, the Hyundai Ioniq Electric has been named to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy's list of "Greenest Vehicles of 2017". This honor is important within a growing and highly competitive green vehicle market segment, and demonstrates Hyundai's focus on environmentally-minded models.

“The Ioniq represents an important milestone in Hyundai’s global sustainability strategy as it meets the needs of a large and growing group of drivers who require a highly efficient, low-emissions vehicle for daily use”, said Mike O’Brien, vice president, corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “We are proud to have made such a prominent list in the competitive green vehicle segment.”
In addition to earning a Green Score of 64 for the Hyundai Ioniq Electric, the base hybrid and plug-in hybrid models earned their own scores of 59 and 62, respectively. The ACEEE determines these scores by taking into account the amount of total emissions from driving, manufacturing and recycling each vehicle. Despite there still being time until the Ioniq's spring arrival date, this is certainly an exciting honor for the brand and this latest model.
